Unexpected Appliances That Are Redefining the Kitchen in 2025
6.6.25
In interior design, appliances aren’t an afterthought. They’re foundational. Especially in kitchens, where every cabinet, drawer, and inch of counter space is shaped by these early decisions. From layout to flow to how someone actually lives in the space, appliances impact it all.
At Triadic, we treat them as part of the design conversation from day one. And over the years, we’ve seen a shift in what’s available. More brands are stepping into the spotlight with designs that are thoughtful, personal, and surprisingly beautiful. They’re changing what appliances can look like, how they function, and the role they play in shaping the feel of a home.
Here are four we’re currently loving. Each one brings something unexpected to the table, whether it’s craftsmanship, technology, or just really good design.
Officine Gullo: Function as Art
We’ve seen a lot of beautiful ranges, but Officine Gullo continues to stand out. Based in Florence, this brand blends old-world metalwork with modern technology. The result is a range that feels completely bespoke. From the enamel color and trim finish to the configuration of burners and handles, nearly every detail is customizable. It becomes less of an appliance and more of a design statement.
But it’s not all about looks. These ranges are built to perform, with dual-fan convection, high-heat output, and solid craftsmanship that’s made to last. We’re drawn to Officine Gullo because it’s not trying to blend in. It commands attention in the best way and becomes the kind of piece you design a kitchen around.
Why we would use it:
For the client who wants something deeply personal that balances craftsmanship with performance.
NEFF: A Door That Disappears
NEFF’s Slide&Hide oven is one of those small details that completely shifts the experience of using a kitchen. Instead of opening outward like a traditional oven, the door glides smoothly underneath the cavity, giving you full access without interruption. It’s a smart solution for tighter spaces, but it also adds a level of ease that clients quickly appreciate.
The technology behind it is equally thoughtful. NEFF’s CircoTherm feature allows you to cook on multiple levels at once without flavor transfer, which is ideal for entertainers or busy families. It’s subtle, but smart. And we love when design works that way.
Why we would use it:
For clean, functional kitchens where smart design makes a daily difference.
La Cornue: The Range That Tells a Story
La Cornue doesn’t just anchor a kitchen. It defines it. These French-made ranges have a timeless quality and bring a sense of story and warmth into the space. The Château Series is their most iconic, fully handcrafted and endlessly customizable. For something more accessible with the same silhouette, the CornuFé line offers great flexibility with a smaller footprint.
What we love most is how much presence these ranges bring to a room. The curved oven doors, brass or copper accents, and thoughtful detailing add richness without feeling overly traditional. La Cornue is about creating a kitchen that feels lived-in and full of intention from the start.
Why we would use it:
To add soul, history, and a quiet kind of drama to a space that deserves more than standard.
Gaggenau: Minimalism, Mastered
If La Cornue is about presence, Gaggenau is about clarity. These appliances are designed for quiet, refined spaces. They sit flush with cabinetry, open with a light touch, and often blend into the background. But make no mistake, they’re just as performance-driven as they are beautiful.
We’re especially drawn to the cooktops that visually disappear into stone surfaces, creating an uninterrupted material flow. The controls are intuitive and subtle, and everything feels intentionally designed. Gaggenau doesn’t ask for attention, but it earns it in its own way.
Why we would use it:
For the client who values restraint, precision, and thoughtful integration.

Our Takeaway
A well-designed kitchen isn’t just about finishes. It’s about how a space feels when it’s in use, and how every element, appliances included, supports that experience. When we start with intention, we’re able to shape kitchens that not only function beautifully but feel like they were always meant to be lived in.
Whether it’s a handcrafted Italian range or an oven door that tucks out of the way, these brands are reminders that appliances can be both smart and stunning. And in the right kitchen, they’re anything but background.
Till next time,
Priscilla
